Norway and Sweden: Sharing perspectives on the energy transition

How are Norway and Sweden approaching the energy transition – and what can we learn from each other? These were among the topics discussed when a delegation from Swedish consultancy Structor Miljöbyrån visited Energy Transition Norway in Stavanger this week.

Structor Miljöbyrån specialises in environment, sustainability and sustainable community development. Its consultants work with areas including energy and climate, environmental impact assessments, climate adaptation, infrastructure and sustainable development.

The delegation came to Stavanger to gain insight into how the energy transition is taking shape in Norway, and particularly how collaboration between industry, technology providers, research institutions and public authorities can help move new energy solutions forward.

EU-advisor Kristoffer Moldekleiv presented Energy Transition Norway the role of the cluster and shared examples of projects and industry collaborations across areas such as offshore wind, CCS, hydrogen and emerging energy value chains.

The visit also opened for a broader discussion about the Norwegian and Swedish approaches to the energy transition. While the two countries share many ambitions and challenges, differences in energy systems, industrial structures and framework conditions create different pathways – and valuable opportunities for learning from each other.

The discussions highlighted both the complexity of turning energy ambitions into practical solutions and the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange across industries and national borders.
