Smart Coil Solutions (SCS) addresses the challenge of fluid displacement in low-pressure and fractured wells, particularly for the first phase of Plug and Abandonment (P&A). In such wells, fluids often flow uncontrollably, complicating the accurate placement of cement or other barrier materials. The solution developed by SCS is a patented wireline-deployed plug system that includes a valve designed to open at a predetermined differential pressure. This enables precise and controlled fluid placement, ensuring high-quality barriers.

Beyond cement placement, the technology is versatile, facilitating operations such as scale and wax removal, acidizing, and water shut-off. Its application is vast, as 90% of oil-producing wells globally are low-pressure wells.

The proposed system significantly reduces emissions and operational costs by minimizing rig time, decreasing cement and chemical usage, and reducing pumping operations. The technology offers financial benefits through reduced operational costs and ensures sustainable practices by lowering the environmental footprint.
