Energy Transition Norway is an energy transition cluster based in Stavanger, the energy capital of Norway. We bring world-leading expertise and technology environments together to increase the pace of innovation in the energy transition.​

About Energy Transition NorwayEnergy Transition Norway (ETN) is an industry-driven energy cluster bringing together more than 160 members and partners, including energy operators, suppliers, startups, investors, research institutions and public authorities. Our network spans the entire energy value chain, connecting established industries with emerging technologies and new business opportunities.

We work across a broad range of energy technologies, including offshore wind, solar and wave power, hydrogen, geothermal energy, carbon capture and storage (CCS), batteries, and plug and abandonment (P&A). By connecting expertise across industries, we support the development of new energy solutions while helping existing industries reduce emissions and adapt to the energy transition.

‍Our mission is to accelerate innovation through collaboration. We provide arenas for networking, knowledge sharing and technology transfer, enabling companies to explore opportunities and develop solutions beyond their traditional networks.

At the core of our activities is our Technical Committee, where major energy operators on the Norwegian Continental Shelf meet quarterly to evaluate innovative project proposals from our members. This gives technology developers and entrepreneurs a unique opportunity to present their solutions directly to potential end-users and decision-makers.

Once a project is endorsed, ETN actively supports its development by connecting relevant partners, facilitating collaboration and identifying funding opportunities. Through this approach, we help turn promising ideas into industry-driven projects that reduce emissions, create business opportunities and strengthen the competitiveness of Norwegian energy industries.

Energy Transition Norway is part of Energy Cluster Norway (ECN), a national initiative bringing together three leading Norwegian energy clusters: Energy Transition Norway, GCE Ocean Technology and Energy Valley.

Together, we aim to accelerate innovation and collaboration across industries, strengthen energy security, develop new value chains and position Norwegian technology and expertise internationally.

Throughout 2026, the three clusters continue to operate independently under the shared ECN umbrella, with a formal merger into one national energy cluster planned for 2027.
