About us

Energy Transition Norway is an energy transition cluster based in Stavanger, the energy capital of Norway. We bring world-leading expertise and technology environments together to increase the pace of innovation in the energy transition.​

Energy Transition Norway (ETN) comprises more than 150 members and partners. Our members embrace a wide range of companies: Operators, suppliers, start-ups, investors, research and academia, and authorities. covering the complete value chain for oil and gas and places the cluster in a unique position.​ We work with offshore wind, solar power, wave power, hydrogen, geothermal energy, P&A, carbon capture and storage, and batteries, and on the transition for companies to succeed in these new value chains.

ETN is an arena for networking, technology transfer, collaboration and innovation. We provide our members the opportunity to present and discuss challenges and solutions outside their traditional network, believing that collaboration across segments fosters an environment for innovation and technology developments.

At the core of our activities is the initiation of innovative industry projects through our Technical Commitee where major energy producers on the Norwegian Continental Shelf convene quarterly to evaluate project proposals submitted by our members. Once endorsed as a cluster project, ETN provides active support to project teams, helping secure financing while ensuring steady progress in industry projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, unlocking new business opportunities, and fostering job creation.

ETN offers a unique platform for entrepreneurs to present their ideas directly to potential end-users, overcoming the hurdles of accessing decision-makers.

Conversely, we enable energy companies to articulate their challenges to a diverse pool of innovators, broadening the scope of solutions beyond conventional service portfolios.  By facilitating collaboration between technology developers and energy companies, we ensure that project initiatives align with strategic visions, driving sustainable growth and innovation in the energy sector.
