As we’re slowly getting back to business as usual after bustling days at ONS2024, where we experienced great interest in Energy Transition Norway’s activities, we’re looking back at a fruitful week for our cluster, our members and our collaboration partners.

Here's a visual recap of ETN's highlights at ONS

At Energy Transition Norway’s stand in Hall 9, we met with numerous industry leaders, key members of financial suppourt institutions and politicians and highlighted the way we work to drive the energy transition forward. In the picture, Egil Aanestad (ETN) and Lars Raunholt (RAWind) meets with Håkon Haugli and Kari Holmefjord Vervik from Innovation Norway.
Flex2future AS and Øglænd System AS signed a key agreement related to the Flex2power project. Øglænd System, a long-time supporter of the project, will now cover a substantial portion of the technology qualification costs for testing the energy conversion device on its foundation.

Together with NORCE we brought together an excellent panel to discuss what is needed to achieve profitability in the energy transition as Camilla Aadland, Atle Blomgren and Camilla Stoltenberg (NORCE), Andreas Bjelland Eriksen (AP), Klaus Mohn (University of Stavanger), Jan Helland Eide (HitecVision Advisory) and Linn Therese Erve (Sustainable Energy Norwegian Catapult Centre) took the stage in Majoren.

Our CEO Egil Aanestad brought together mayor of Stavanger kommune, Sissel Knutsen Hegdal heads of economic development of Stavanger and Rogaland County Council Anne Woie and Mette Fossan with Director General of the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation at the Western Australian Government and Francis Norman CEO and Managing Director at Centre Of Decommissioning Australia (CODA) to exchange insights, and explore opportunities for collaboration in the energy transition.
Chair of ETN's Board Tor Arnesen joined PWC’s discussion about the North Sea’s role in the Europen Energy Transition, presenting our national collaboration initiative with our sister cluster GCE Ocean Technology as a key contributor to our goals. (Screenshot from DN.no)

Tor Arnesen (ETN) and Owe Hagesæther (GCE Ocean Technology) brought together Tina Bru (politician) Marte Mjøs Persen (politician), Siri Espedal Kindem (Equinor Renewables Norway) and Aina Berg (NORCE) to discuss the Blue Quantum leap initiative to bring together energy clusters in Norway in one national organisation.

Kristoffer Moldekleiv joined Energy Valley's panel discussion on the 2030 outlook for hydrogen in Norway with Sverre Alvik (DNV), Andreas Ekker (Gen2Energy), Tor Kristian Haldorsen (Norwegian Hydrogen Forum), Elizabeth Heuch Olbjørn (ABB AS).
We also co-hosted the reception for H2 conference Norway 2025 with Stavanger Chamber of Commerce, ONS and City of Stavanger, and the loft at Rosenkilden was packed with hydrogen enthusiasts when Tor Arnesen (ETN), Frida Eklöf Monstad (Equinor) and Henning Wege (Thyssenkrupp Steel) took the stage with us.

Our member companies Flex2power, HydePoint, Arda Energy and SEID AS pitched at the Tech Transfer track at the Centre Court, where they received strong recognition for their potential for making significant contributions to the energy transition from Kristin Aamodt, (ArcTern Venture) Andrew Smart (Accenture) Siri M. Kalvig (Nysnø Climate Investments) and Roberto Furian ARDENGHY etroleum & Gas Institute).

During the course of the week, several members and collaboration partners were invited to use a designated meeting room at our stand to have valuable one-to-one meetings with business interests. Here Knut Høiland (Flex2power).

The consensus is clear: the pace of the energy transition must accelerate, and gatherings like ONS are crucial for fostering the international collaboration needed to propel this forward.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to these important conversations during this years conference!
